As we announced last week, we were thrilled to be supporting the KMR Kawasaki team at the annual Sunflower Trophy Races at Bishopscourt in Co.Down. Attracting the best riders from across the UK and beyond, we were happy to be supporting local team KMR Kawasaki, which is owned and operated by Road Racing royalty Ryan Farquhar.
Ryan Farquhar is the most successful road racer in history having 357 wins, which resulted in him being awarded the British Empire Medal in 2020 for his services to the sport. Since his retirement from racing, Ryan has focused on running the KMR Kawasaki Team and has been instrumental in the creation and development of the Supertwin class.
The team have numerous NW200 and Isle of Man TT wins to their name.
As a long time family friend, we were thrilled to be able to support the team at this years prestigious Sunflower Trophy Races, and the team did not disappoint.
Supporting three riders, British Champion Richard Cooper, British Stock 600 Champion Owen Jenner and local lad and championship runner up Cameron Dawson, it was victory all round for the team.
Racing unfortunately had to be abandoned on Friday due to adverse weather conditions, however was rescheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
On Saturday, Richard Cooper took victory in the Supertwin class with Cameron Dawson coming home in second.
On Sunday, unfortunately Richard Cooper had to head home with other commitments, however Owen and Cameron did the team proud in his absence.
Cameron took victory in the second Supertwin race of the weekend, making it a clean sweep for the team in the Supertwin class.
Owen Jenner also made it 2 x victories from 2 x starts onboard the KMR 450 Kawasaki, meaning the team achieved victory in every single race of the weekend.
We had a fantastic weekend with the team, and look forward to working with them more in the future. It is great to give back to the local community and sports, and we are very proud to work alongside the team!
